Forty4 Videos

So you want to see how Forty4 scrub up in the moving flesh? Well, hopefully we’re not as grotesque as some of the Shrek’s doing the rounds and we do and try to watch our weight! With the exception of the promos we’ve done at 5150 Studios, there are no HD video shoots here – just horrible, gritty, home-movie style You Tube clips. We just need that Duran Duran video budget to make us look totally gorgeous and irresistible…

Forty4 Live & Unplugged At Warrington R&B Festival, 2012

Forty4 performed two sets at this 1-day festival, one electric and one unplugged. This is the only snippet of the band playing with the great Johnny Hewitt who guested on a few tracks. The atmosphere on stage was electric with Johnny, no rehearsal, nothing planned out! It’s a totally organic experience, enhanced by the keyboards of the legendary Dave Goldberg who stood in for the band that day.

Forty4 Live At Alexander’s Chester

Forty4 played a benefit gig at Alexander’s during 2012 and one of the audience took some video. In this section of the gig we play Lee Dorsey’s ‘Get Out Of My Life Woman’ and T. Bone Walker’s ‘T Bone Shuffle’.

Forty4 – ‘Forty Four’

Forty4 performing their namesake song, Howlin’ Wolf’s ‘Forty Four’, live at BJ’s Blues club, Chorley, 1 March 2012. Video courtesy of the wonderful Rosy Greer, long time supporter of live music in the North West.

Forty4 – ‘Loving By The Truckload’

Forty4 performing their own composition, ‘Loving By The Truckload’ at the Steve Brown benefit gig, 29/10/11.

Forty4 – ‘Tell The Truth’

Forty4 performing the old Derek & The Dominos number, ‘Tell The Truth’ (or as Glen sings it, “tell the troooooath”) at the Steve Brown benefit gig, 29/10/11. Well, everyone does ‘Layla’, don’t they?

Forty4 (Featuring Ken Peace) – ‘Bright Lights, Big City’

Forty4 with the excellent Ken Peace on Harmonica performing the Jimmy Reed classic, ‘Bright Lights, Big City’ at the Steve Brown benefit gig, 29/10/11.

Forty4 – ‘Superstition’

Forty4 performing their version of the old chestnut that is, ‘Superstition’ at the Steve Brown benefit gig, 29/10/11. Ok, this song’s been covered hundreds of times, but we reckon our groove is unashamedly, a cut above the average on the British circuit.

Forty4 – ‘Old Love’ (Guitar Solo)

Excerpt of Forty4 performing Eric Clapton’s ‘Old Love’ – well, at least the guitar solo part – at the Steve Brown benefit gig, 29/10/11. This is what we call the ‘Starkey money shot’ as it’s his big moment and no, we don’t know how long he’s going to take to finish. It’s always an idea to to look for the rest of the band checking their watches if he’s got the guitarist’s Viagra on the go…

Forty4, Colne Festival, 2010

A condensed video of Forty4’s set at the Colne R&B Festival, 2010. A bit distorted thanks to the video camera’s mic crumbling under its own digital compression, but if nothing else, worth watching for the tribute to Michael Jackson from a local chap…
